Don't know about long term yet, 'cause I just got mine a couple weeks ago. The polymer magazine and trigger guard are made of the same material as Glock pistols according to the promo stuff. And as hard as is it to get used to the plastic feel of the magazine it should outlast a metal one (with no rusting to worry about). Being military I've seen lots of metal parts being replaced by high strength plastics and polymers, including helicopter parts that made me feel queasy when I looked at them. They've never failed me, but a lot of metal parts have, like turbine blades in engines, aluminum drive shafts, metal honycomb blades. The parts on the T3 are not the hard plastic of 20 years ago that would get cold and only take a sharp rap to shatter. I'm not worried about mine. As soon as I get a scope on it I'll let you know how it shoots. Initial out of the box quality is great, I got the lite model with synthetic stock. That does take some getting used to also since everything else I own wears a solid wood stock. Action is very smooth and everything seems to function properly. Pistol season is this weekend so I won't get this out until Feb sometime.
