Looking for 22 K Hornet loads for a 21 inch contender.....looking at 40 gr. bullets or less......Thanks Hal

Go to the Hodgdon site and get some data for Li'l'Gun. It's the best for velocity. Somthing else might give you better accuracy. You'll just have to test. There's plenty of on-line data.

Feb '99 Handloader has an article on the K-Hornet in a contender carbine. I don't have my data with me but most of my data is using Win 680. I would look at regular Hornet data for W680(if you have any), AA1680, IMR4227, VV N110, and Little Gun.

I have had good results in my Contender, factory barrel rechambered to K-Hornet, with 13.8 gr Lil Gun, Hornady 40 gr VMax, WSR primers in Remington brass. V = 3050 fps and groups under 1 MOA. Start about 13.0 gr and work up.

try 35gr v-maxes and win. 296 12grains.very fast and my contender carbine will shoot into half inch at 100 yds. i have more data and pix of my contender.
