Anyone interested in helping me draw the handi rifle in CAD
« on: August 22, 2011, 03:20:38 PM »
I am thinking about drawing up a complete HandiRifle in AutoCAD. Then it would be easier to make or have made various parts? Anyone have access to a CMM, computerized Measuring Machine?

I think Green Machine has done that for some parts, see the Trigger Guard and Spacer sticky in the H&R Classifieds.

They didn't make the drawings available to the public though, did they?

You know what make it even easier?

Find someone who has a 3D scanner and convert them to Autodesk Inventor files/drawings.

I am working on th barrel lug first. With that I can fit barrels blanks to my frame. After I have it drawn up I am going run one on a milling machine I have access to and make sure it fits at least my frame.  I 'll try to post what I have done so far this weekend.

That will be great for your frame, but frames aren't one size fits all, so the underlug specs for the one barrel won't  work for other frames.
