Synthetic or laminate stock ?

I personally prefer laminated stocks.  They make less noise and it's more of a natural sound.  They are also a lot warmer in very cold weather.  I also believe they are less likely to break in very cold temps.  Plus I like the look..  Actually I really prefer solid wood, but they are more trouble to keep functional in wet conditions...

Synthetic or laminate stock ?

Yup me too. Laminated is my personal choice over plastic or walnut either. I like the warmth and feel of wood and the quietness as compared to plastic. Laminated gives me those but with stability and weather resisitance almost equal to plastic. Given my choice all of my long guns would wear the laminated stocks.

Synthetic or laminate stock ?

I have had and seen some very nice (in my opinion) synthetic stocks. Weatherby and Sako to be exact.  But wood is still nicer as long as it is not plain jane ie... no grain.  But with the laminated you always have patterns.  The only thing I would not choose in a laminate is some of the ugly(in my opinion) laminates in multicolor schitzophrenic (sp?) colors.

I have both and like them. The laminated stocks are a little heavier than walnut. Good synthetics are usually a little lighter. Most injection molded stocks are light and flimsy feeling. IMHO to get good accuracy from a synthetic stock it has to be rigid.

I'll add my voice for laminate.  I like the look and feel of wood.  The rifles I have with laminate stocks have performed well in wet and cold conditions.  No complaints to date.
