encore 375 JDJ data

Anyone have 375 JDJ load data for the encore?  The stuff I have found is lower pressure stuff for the contender.

All you need is Contender data.  If you know how to reload and know pressure signs, all you need is a starting point.  It's up to you, the hopefully competent reloader, to determine the maximum load in your gun.

I'll add the question... why?   
 
Having had four SSK 375JDJ's since the very early 80's, shooting an uncountable number of rounds with them hunting, LR hunting and just plinking with what was one of my favorite Contender cartridges, I can't see a valid need to push them any harder.   Loads that approximate JD's 270 and 300 grain loads give very impressive results, even at long range out of a short barrel.

Grumulkin and Ladobe are right on the money with their comments. If you can't kill it with the Contender-level loadings (and even some of those out there are what I consider red-line for the Contender frame), you won't kill it with anything more potent, either.
 
Plus, going beyond that level takes out the "enjoyable" factor and starts to put you through more recoil punishment than most can handle without developing flinches.

The only time I have ever been bloodied by a scope in 50 years of shooting was with my friends .375JDJ contender with the .270 Hornady ahead of a stiff load of Varget. I think there is no need for additional power in a contender. BTW after that incident I renamed JD's famous caliber. I now call it the .375NK (NogginKnocker) an honourable distiction I think

Yep, and the 375JDJ could be one of them.   I pushed them harder than most folks would though, had a couple of compressed loads I shot for years, but never found the red line or stretched a frame.   Their recoil, even with hot loads and heavy bullets didn't bothered me at all, and I never got bite by any handcannon.   It's all about technique.   ;)

Dan,

Instead of a 375 JDJ on your Encore, how about just getting a 375 H&H barrel for it? That way you're not trying to "hot rod" a cartridge past it's design and turn it into something it was never intended to be.

There's plenty of room in the H&H chambering to give you (hopefully) anything you're looking for, and do it with proven safe load data.

If that's not enough, you could always step up to a 416 Rigby! That should get R done.

If you want to take advantage of a short fat cartridge in 375 then how about a 375/350 Magnum.  Necking up a 350 Magnum would be a neat wildcat.

Having owned one of the first 10" 416 Rigby Encores, I can suggest they are not for everybody though when launching a 400 gr bullet upwards of 2400 fps and 5,000 ft-lb at the muzzle.

redneckdan, check out over on Specialty pistols. I'm sure I've seen posts about 375 JDJ Encore compatible loads over there and someone will probably chime in with some help. No reason the 375 JDJ can't be loaded up to take adavntage of the Encores strength if that's what you want. Wouldn't want it to find it's way into a Contender though. Lots of good info over there at SP.
