Limb lining
« on: July 11, 2011, 06:04:13 AM »
So far this year we have not had much luck. We are in northwest AR. We started putting out about 25 lines and just had one fish. Been using bait fish, stink bait, chicken livers, and dead bait fish from the fishing shop. We put the lines out over night about a month ago. Maybe the water was not warm enough? Its heated up now. hoping to go out again when the air temp cools down some. Any tips or ideas would be great

Thanks

What type of water are you fishing. In a creek or river using some live perch or cutbait should have  gotten plenty of action about that time of year.
Deer hunting is mostly fun then you shoot one and it turns to work.

3-5" bluegills fished 6-12 inches under the water is usually murder on Blues and flatheads.

sorry forgot to put its on a lake. its a private lake. big enough to water ski around on. maybe a mile long. you can see down 3-4 feet. maybe the lines are to long. we have them 4-5 feet under the water. most people on the lake fish for bass. not a lot of people going for cats. hoping to go out again soon and see if its changed at all.

we went out the other night and put 25 lines out. came back the next morning and had 5  4-7 pound cats and a 3 lb bass. the bass went back in the lake. the catfish are in the freezer. we used cut bluegill the kids caught a couple weeks before. we where happy to get some.
