7mm Bullberry, XLR250 light and a south central TX hog
« on: July 07, 2011, 09:06:15 PM »

First, thanks to those who have given reports on the Elusive WIldlife Technologies products. I used a feeder light the other evening to take a nice boar, and tonight, I got to use the scope-mounted XLR250 green LED light, and it did not disappoint. I had clear target acquisition at an estimated 170 yards (I'll laser it tomorrow to get an exact reading) and had no problems aligning the crosshairs on the vitals.

This was not hunting but more of nuisance control, and I barely had to leave the yard to make this shot. But it still feels good to take out a porker every now and then...

Pardon the photo as it is not how I wanted to set it up, but in this heat and humidity, every second counts. I was not feeling strong enough to complete the butchering process, so some folks from within the county kindly came to get this sow.

Well done, sir!  I trust you are staying indoors and away from the heat as much as possible.

Yes, I am staying indoors as much as possible. I am disabled and can't handle the heat at all anymore like I used to. But I do have a couple shooting platforms set up near the yard so that I can still partake in popping a hog when necessary.
