I rented Fred's when he first got it, actually I think he bought one cuz I kept bugging him that I wanted to rent one from him, I think it took about a year to happen!  ::)

Why not just get a 45-70?

I thought about doing a 460, since I carry a 460 on my hip.  Nice to only have to carry one cartridge.  But since I live in Grizzly Country, think I'll pass.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

as quickdtoo said, I have a 45-70............I have a 15" 460 Thompson Encore and wanted a rifle  in 460 also.....my TC shot 45 Colt, 454's and 460's all very accurate ......so I thought, why not shoot all 3 in my 45 Colt carbine (which I Love!)

Since I reload I see no reason to not use the longest brass that fits the chamber, even with light loads.

Is your .45 Colt on the SB-2 (rifle) frame? I don't think H&R would approve of using the rather high pressure .460 on the SB-1 frame.

The 45 Colt has never been offered on an SB1 frame, just SB2 in 2007 and 2008, the 45-410 is, but that's not what poncaguy is asking about.
