:D We really could use more info,,,,but I have both rifles.

In my opinion try to get a .300 WSM in a 24" barrel. I have one in a new Sako Finnlite(23 7/16" barrel), and the felt recoil is about the same with a 165 gr Partition(moderate load) as my 7 MM mag with a heavy 150-160 gr load.

They are both great calibers..... with the emphasis on Elk I'd go with the .300 WSM.

I've had best luck with 180 or 200 gr bullets in the 300 Mag. They are very accurate and pack a good punch for elk.

For your 7mm, I'd go with a 160 or 175 gr bullet for elk. The 160 gr bullets are my favorite and have plenty of power.
