a "lucky" bullet
« on: December 23, 2003, 08:05:09 AM »
in 1940 as the british army was evacuating the beaches of dunkirk, a young scot named robert kincaid was wounded in the neck in the neck. upon examination by a field surgeon it appeared the bullet had passed through with minimal damage as there where 2 holes in the back of his neck. 60 years later he took a fall and to have his head X-rayed. the doctors found a dark solid object that didn't belong. when they opened him up to remove it they where shocked to find an FMJ 8MM mauser bullet. it had been lodged inside his neck for more then 60 years!!
" oh we didn't sink the bismarck, and we didn't fight at all, we spent our time in Norfolk and we really had a ball. chasing after women while our ship was overhauled, living it up on grapefruit juice and sick bay alcohol"
