Sako 85 stock
« on: November 24, 2010, 07:27:07 AM »
Does anyone know  where I can get a wood stock for the sako 85? I have the stainless synthetic version and I prefer the wood over the synthetic.

I found a mint condition M75 stock for my stainless/syn on ebay. It might take a few weeks if your as picky as I am, but I'm extremely pleased w/ a new take off stock w/ awesome grain. I see them on gunbroker too.

Will the 75 stock fit the 85 action?

I have a sako 75 with the walnut stock. Found the length of pull a little too long and had a pachmayer pad put on after the stock had been cut. The gunsmith had remarked that the quality of the walnut was very nice. I did ask about getting a sako synthetic stock, but when I found out what they wanted for it about $500 well stuck with what I have. So if and when you do locate a walnut stock for your sako 85 I think you'll be well satisfied. Frank
