Hammer extention for H&R 1871 Buffalo Classic
« on: March 07, 2011, 07:54:45 AM »
Will the Uncle Mikes 24560 hammer extention for the Topper and Handi-rifles fit the hammer on my H&R 1871 Buffalo Rifle?

They seem to be similiar in size.

Thank you

I don't have my book handi, to cross numbers. But the same extender for a RUGER BLK HAWK fits all the SB1/2  H&R/NEF hammers perfectly.

The Uncle Mike's 24560 is what H&R sells as the factory hammer extension, the BC uses the same SB2 frame as the Handi, they use the same hammer in all modern H&R/NEF single shot firearms.

I have had two extensions in the past, and sometime last year took them off. Since then Ive been hooking the hammer with the tip of my thumb under the scope and it is second nature now; I am not missing the silly little thing a bit. A couple of the scopes sit pretty low too and close to the hammer. I dont have a little thumb either.

I have an Uncle Mikes double sided extension on my BC, looks and works very nice.
If he's carrying a singleshot, don't expect a warning shot!
