Clip problems?
« on: February 28, 2011, 09:46:41 AM »
I'm having an issue with a couple of kinds of ammo. The Rem Yellow Jackets and the Win HighVel HPs(50 round silver box) will not feed the 5th and finally round from the clip. It seems to be hanging up on the bottom of the the feed ramp. Both have a trunicated style bullet and a flatter nose. I've not had any problems where the more rounded nosed Hps or full RN bullets are concerned.
Any of ya'll run into this? Suggestions?

I can't decide whether to contact Savage or just shoot up what remains of these and write off. Thankfully, they aren't the best shooting ones. Oh, this a 5 shot clip.

Would probably be better just to shoot them up plinking and buy a different style since they don't hit very good anyhow. On a 10-22 I polish the feed ramp (on the magazine) to ensure cycling. If you have a dremel and a polishing wheel it wouldn't hurt for the overall feeding. But of coarse may not solve the trunicated problem.
