45 cal Scout
« on: February 22, 2011, 02:30:24 PM »
I've got  45 caliber TC Scout pistol that I'm not sure I need. Traded into it. Doesn't have the ramrod but is in excellent condition with the original box. Don't see many of these. Anyone have an idea what the value might be? I've got a contender in 45 already and don't see me using the Scout. Thanks for any info/help.

You'll get way more information posting this in the muzzleloader forum(s) on GBO (or elsewhere).   Many of those gents are always looking for a Scout pistola or carbine, and they do bring a nice price now days.   Seen a few come up at a muzzy site I frequent, the prices were fairly steep but they didn't last long before somebody snatched them up.

Thanks. Didn't know where to post it. Only noticed muzzleloader rifles or cap and ball guns. Don't see much info on these.

No foul pard.   The Encore muzzies often come up on this forum, kind of quandary as they probably belong in the Modern Muzzy forum with TC's other modern muzzies.   But the Scout is a TC, and this forum is called "Thompson Center Handguns ", so knowing where can easily be confusing.   Even so the crowd that runs the modern muzzies usually are found on the other forum is why I suggested asking there.    Many folks that shoot TC muzzies don't also shoot Contenders, G2's or Encores.   On the all muzzie forums I run, the firearms forums are for traditional only (no modern), but Admin has let the Scout slide a few times in a "General" forum.

Doubt you'd get it here, but I've seen them go for $350-$400 on other ML sites in the past.   Depends on how bad somebody wants one and where they are in the country (muzzies tend to be price based by localities).   Neither the pistokl or the carbine are my cup of tea, but they are suppose to be well made and very reliable for hunting.   Gary Reeder had one he customized for sale about a year ago or so he was asking $800 for.  Remember the price - don't remember what he did to it.   You can also peruse the on-line auction sites to see what folks are asking for them (and actually paying for those sold).
