444,

What load were you shooting in the Encore BP barrel?  What kind of groups are you getting?

Thanks,

X

X,
I use 2  50 gr Pyrodex pellets. I've clocked this load in the mid 1600fps range.  As far as groups go I've never had a scope on it to test it's ultimate potential. I have a Millet 5 moa red dot attached and have managed 2.5" groups at 65 yards which is about the limit my old eyes can see the target without magnification. But I'm sure scoped I could get much better groups.

Thanks triple4,

I bought the used 14" Encore 209X50 that was listed on Bullberry's "ready to ship" page on their website.  I am anxiously awaiting its arrival.  I want to use it for hogs.  All shots will probably be less than 100 yards, more like 50 so 2 1/2" groups at 65 would be no problem.  I've already got a 2X Burris scope just sitting here waiting to be mounted on this barrel.  I hope that mine shoots as good as yours!!

Thanks for sharing the information.

X

Perfect expansion! Wow, you can't expect any better than that! How did the Doe react to the shot? Congratulations?

HHI,
That doe didn't care for it too much. But I apologize to her every time I pull a package out of the freezer.

X,
I wish you the best of luck on your hog hunt. If you're going to shoot sabots a piece of advise. I've always achieved better results by smearing a dab of T/C Bore butter on the sabot before loading.
