got all the chain and swivels off my traps last night going to redo it all i have some #2 welded chain thinking 8 or 9 links with a crunch proof swivel on both ends with a shock spring at the trap should keep the chain length about 9 or 10 inches total including the swivels most of the NWS 1 3/4s have a welded ring on the trap frame a few dont so should i use the rivet in the side hole or just drill a hole in the frame and put rivet through the hole or do they make a split ring or something that i dont have to weld that i could put around the frame to attach the swivel from the bottom like the original welded ones
thanks as always for any and all info or suggestions
i know i cant spell but im sure you all can understand what im typing  ;) ;D

Brad, you can leave the chain on the ends of the trap if you wish. Some prefer the chain in the center of the trap.
One way to do this,is take a few links of your #2 machine chain ,and wrap it around the base plate.Attache a double swivel to the two ends of the chain--then you can add whatever chain lenth you want to the swivel.
