Help with a rifle scabbard
« on: May 13, 2011, 06:57:34 PM »
Howdy fellas,

A friend of mine gave me a rifle scabbard for my win model 94, the only problem is that it was been sitting in his garage for years so it was dirty and stiff. i cleaned it up but its still really stiff and dried out. I have a tin of saddle soap that i was hopping would work but before i try it i thought i would ask here.

Whats the best way to go about softening and cleaning this thing up so i can use it?

Thanks
JW

I make  saddles, holsters etc. for a living...and the best thing that I know of is "Skidmore's" Leather cream.... it is exactly what your are looking for.

Hope this helps
