Another 10mm success

Got a nice lion over the Holidays with my 10. 165 gr Golden Saber pushed to a little pass 1400 by 10 gr of 800-X. Hit him 4 times out of 4, 2 bullets exited and recovered 2. One bullet was recovered underneath the hide on the opposite side, the other was stopped by the spine and weighed a little over 87 gr. Lots of tissue damage by the GS at that impact velocity. Of course not as much as a rifle round but more than a hard cast...

Nice!  Very nice load, as well, although, admittedly, I'd probably use 180 or 200gr load for hunting.  Still, the 165's did their job apparently.  (I took a coyote with a 10mm once before and it took several shots to anchor him, too.  Toughest critters on the block, if you ask me.)

Congrats and thanks for sharing.  You better wipe that ol' Delta down in oil.  :D

 Golden Saber's do the job but they like to come apart at those speeds. Gold dot's work great for higher velocity in the 10mm. Where is this at? Nice shooting and nice cat.

4 shots weren't really necessary, I do a lot of 3-gun competitions so I tend to shoot until the "steel" is down. The other reason for me being so trigger happy too, was my guide does not tie up her dogs once a lion is treed. Therefore, I felt compelled to shoot until the lion expires. I actually have on hand 1k of the new Nosler 200 JHP's but wanted field results with these 165 GS. It looks like the 200's will get a workout on the next trip. BTW, this lion is an exceptional lion (green score made B&C) so I really feel that the bullets did their job. A dead lion and no dogs injured.

The great state of Indiana does not allow hunting with the 10MM it is not on the lsit for deer I have a Glock 20 with a 6" barrel and load some 200 hard cast at 1200 Fps compares to the 41 magnum Oh well >:(

Good shooting on a great animal! Always wanted to get a Mountain Lion. Let me know how it tastes if you are eating it. Golden Sabres are good bullets. Less friction on the rifling. I wish Buffalo Bore would load it in their standard pressure .38 loading.

Thanks again to all. Mohawk, lion meat is a white meat like pork. I did not think it was gamey as much as mule deer. I guess a lot of lion hunters eat them. I really enjoyed the meat.
