Father & Son tag teaming the beaver
« on: January 15, 2011, 04:41:29 AM »
Well here are some photos from last Sunday here in northern Illinois. My son & I went out on Saturday morning and put out some beaver sets using some 330's. Here are the results. Out of 6 sets, we both got 2 beaver each. It looks like the education that I gave my son in the fields & streams has paid off! One of his beaver had 6 bite marks in it from another beaver. I told my son to get back out to the area and reset for more. On Thursday he got 2 more beaver with one being a real brute! The only problem is that his camera's batteries got cold and the camera didnt work.

When I got up and tried to start my truck that morning, it was 7 degrees and thank God there was no wind. I said "tried to start my truck". I had a dead battery. I also tried to jump it but it was dead dead dead. With the keys still in the ignition, I went to disconnect the positive terminal and whe I got it loosened, the doors locked automaticlly. I couldnt find the spare and was using the wrong slim jim. I went and got a new battery, put it in, and tried the slim jim again but couldnt get the damn door unlocked. I realized that I had another slim jim in the garage. When I used it, I got the door opened right away. Once we drove to where we had out sets, it was already warming up very nicely. It turned out to be about 24 degrees for a high that day and I was glad that the bad luck ended in my driveway!
