Boy, that's confidence for you...  :-\  I been running my trap line every day for 6 streight months and haven't got a thing!   :-[

'course it's just one trap... a blind set... in my back yard... my fenced in back yard... and I don't actually set it... afraid the dog or cat might get, uh, trapped... momma would be mad... or I might hurt one a the yard men... but INS wouldn't care...  :-\

Nope, there must be more to it then putting out traps!   :(

But I think you done good in that respect!   ;D

well just got back from buddys place to get traps he said if i wanted them all i could have them for 30 bucks so now insted of 5 for 20 i got 11 for 30 all victor #2s with beefer springs chains and swivels fresh dip that makes it 21 for 50 bucks plus the 2 duke 1.5s i think ill stop at that for now that sould be enough for me to get a good trap line to start out he told me that the 1 3/4s i got are #2s with 1 3/4 pans on them so there all victor #2s so thats 19 #2 victors and 2 #2 north woods im happy with what i got so far if the season was longer i would go get a trappers tag but ill read n learn some more and be ready next year im excited right now

hey fishdaddy how do i get the pan under the jaws i looked and the pan is as low as it will go just about a 1/8 or so above the jaw line now i looked at the place where the pan attaches and the only way i can think of getting the pan lower is to oval out the hole where it attaches to the trap with the lil brass bolt is this how you modify it by opening the hole some so the pan drops lower in the back and bend up where the dog attaches so it makes a good fit or am i way out there on the prosess i am new to this these are the first traps i have ever set or played with so i really have no clue but want to learn
thanks for any and all info you guys n gals can share with me

Do not enlarge hole by making hole larger on the bottom.  Some traps you can get pan lower than jaws some you cant.  If you have pan level with jaws  you can  just put less dirt over pan area (if your dirt trapping) than rest of area.  The lower area over pan will direct most animals (especially canines) to step in low spot over pan.  There are alot of trap modification books on market.  One good one is by Charlie Dobbins which almost the bible of trap modifications.  Hopefully till next season you can sort out all the differant ideas out there and pick the one you would like to use.  Dont be afraid to ask questions on the differant trapping forums.  We all started out knowing nothing and have gleaned information over the years from other trappers.  Some work and some dont which could depend upon your area you are trapping in.  Good luck and ask away.

what rdfx said works..or you could take the pan off and weld up the hole and drill another higher.
