What bullet for the 9x57r?
« on: January 03, 2011, 02:21:07 PM »
I found the right guy to make the 9x57R ammo for me.  His price was fair and he was the only ammo maker who wanted to take the 8x57 JRS and make it larger.  Everyone else wanted to use Marlin 444 cases...

I have 2 choices with bullets

Oh which one?

How can we answer this, until you tell us what the bore slugged out at?

BTW, You don't need anyone to make you ammo, you can easily make it yourself!

  Good, that's important to know...

Of those two bullets, i'd say either one will work for accuracy, the next question will be how fast your drilling will push them?  At reasonable ranges, i'm betting either one will work on hogs though.

This is going to be a short range stalking type drilling.  Im putting a 1.5-5x20mm VX-iii scope on it.  Given both will work I am leaning to the RN for the coolness factor...
