.357???
« on: December 20, 2010, 02:11:14 PM »
If I buy a new .357 what frame would it come with. the reason I ask is I've read you can put a pistol cartridge on a shotgun frame, and if I buy a new rifle I would like to have the stronger frame so I can get some other rifle barrels for it. been qouted $240 plus tax, sound fair?

It would be the SB1 frame, so not a rifle cartridge frame.  $240 is fair, not fantastic, but not unreasonable either.

They want $270 around here. Too much for a sb1 frame. I bought two and had two of my friends buy 44s with sights and sb2 frames for $225. before they changed to the new models. I tried to buy another but they were out. Thought I was getting one of my friends but he shot a deer with it this year so it sounds like he will be keeping it >:(

I'd buy the rifle you want and pick up a barrel from the program when it gets fixed.

I just saw a 22-250 pw for $299. They even went up this year. Almost went and got it today. Maybe tomorrow ;D

+1 on bigvarmint if you want a rifle buy a rifle on an SB2 frame and get a 357 barrel later. Or buy an SB2 frame from the classifieds and a stock set then send that in for a 357 barrel.
