A couple of SC furbearers
« on: December 19, 2010, 04:19:29 PM »
My huntin buddy's brother bought himself a little farm in So. Carolina and da boy done gone hog wild!   ::)  Bought hisself a tractor, plantin food plots and I don't know what all!   :D  The good thing is I'll get to hunt it!   ;D

Anyway, one of the first things he did was set out trail cams all over.  Mostly he sends us pics of deer, but last time he sent these.

Now, I love skunk fur, but I have never seen one like that!  My new hat just walked by the camara!   :D  The gray looks good to!

I got a skunk from my buddy, but its the exact opposite of yours. Pure black with just a little tiny white cap. I'm going to tan it. Not sure what I'll do with it after that, but my oldest daughter said she would take it to hang on her wall.

I caught a few skunks with some pretty wide white down their back. Couple that were almost pure black, but never seen one yet on my line that white. Cool!

South Carolina is a fine place.  I have lived here all my life.  Recently got into trapping because of some recent trouble with coyotes.  I'm giving it my first try this week.  I bought some duke #2s and will use rotten eggs/tuna.  I am really not sure what is eating my turkeys, so I'm just trying to lure anything.  I caught a few coyotes on the game camera...
Skunks come in all colors here and some don't have tails.  That one looks like an albino...
