« on: December 13, 2010, 03:16:04 PM »
The botton that is pushed to open my 22 hornet seems a bit wobbly and lose. Is that normal?
Thanks Apex

It should be a little loose when the latch is fully engaged.

Yes, it should be about 2/3 of the way up from fully down, but not at the top of it's travel.

When the barrel is slammed shut, closed, there should be some movement in the release lever. Doesn't matter in the chamber is empty or loaded.

I have two SB2s (.223 & 45-70) and one SB1 (.357 Mag) and checked the release lever for loosness on all three.  Checked with action open, closed and with hammer foward and back while action open and closed.  The release levers always had movement on all three handi's with the action open/closed with hammer forward/back.  The exception was the SB1 357 Mag, when the action was open with the hammer forward the Release Lever was tight at the top of it's travel, I forgot if it was loose with the action open and hammer pulled back, you can do that on a handi.
