I also do metal work and have the capabilities of cutting and polishing granite. Here are a few pics of some of my stuff. Don't you just love looking at pictures? Someone else post some

I did all the metal work for a kitchen remodel I did. In this case the granite work was done by someone else but when I saw how easy it was I decided to try it on my own. I did a bathroom with 2 vanities for less than $200. Just the cost of the granite that I picked up at a granite boneyard.

I'll take some pics of that and post them later.

I also made the chairs. I have $6 in materials not counting the leather in each chair. I bought the leather at Tandy's and cut and laced it for seats and backs.

The pot hanger went on the ceiling.

here is some more of my stuff.
I did my fireplace mantle out of a 3" slab of walnut. The metal work all welded by me. I used stair case handrail spindles that I bought but fabricated everything else. Also did the wire screen in the opening.

Made the base for the dining room table and dropped a piece of granite on it. The turned wood in the center is Poisonwood. I never heard of it before I bought it. Feet are mahogany.

I do a little of everything.

Here is the bathroom I did. I have $200 in the granite. One vanity is 6' long and the other is 4' long.

Here is the jewelry chest I made for my wife sitting on a marble topped table I made with polished copper legs. The copper came off of an old communications tower. I soaked it in muratic acid to remove 30 years of tarnish and polished it. Then I coated it with clear laquer. The green marble I bought at a granite boneyard for $5 a sq foot. Then cut it to the size I wanted and surrounded it with red oak.

I cut this Texas out of granite with a side grinder and a 4 1/2" diamond blade.

i'd like to know and i KNOW my wife would like to know....how do you have time to work on stuff for your own house?i'm sure i'm not theonly guy out there that has that question.

I think most of us find the time to do the things we want to do. Working on the house is fun for me. Almost all of the things I have done were done on weekends. Sure, some projects take a while to finish but I think the end product is worth the wait.
Lots of folks hunt, ride motorcycles, work on a project car, and many other activities. I work on the house or go fishing.

Nice work, I like metalwork and doing some blacksmithing is high on my list of things to learn someday. Right now I have way too many irons in the fire to start any new hobbies. Woodcarving is my thing, been at it for about 7 years now.
