Green mold on carpet
« on: September 23, 2010, 04:55:14 AM »
Anyone have any ideas about how to remove green mold from boat carpet?  I think Chlorox would bleach out the carpet.

Star1pup, probably have it cleaned by now. I would try some pine sol type cleaner or simple green. If you have one, an industrial shop vac to try and suck all the moisture out of the carpet. I just set my boat up for the winter, and I have a fiberglass floor in my boat. It has leaf stains from sitting in the driveway before I put it in the pole barn. I think next spring I'll try some bon ami on them to get the stain out. It's a fishing boat, so I'm not to worried about them. Had fish blood and guts on the floor lots of times, and they came out. gypsyman

Thanks for the tip.  I have it sort of cleaned and the boat is covered for the winter.  Mine's a fishing boat too, but sometimes I take the wife and others for a ride and you know how that can be. ;D
