Powerbelt performance in my pot roast

Yesterday I was making a pot roast from a 2 1/2 inch of ham steak from a deer I killed last year. After a couple hours of cooking while I was breaking the meat apart I found the bullet lodged against the bone.
It was a 50 cal 295 aerotip pushed by 2 X 50 grain Triple Seven pellets. The impact velocity was ~ 1500 ft/sec at 50 yards.
The forward portion of the bullet was gone but the base 1/2 inch was still intact. Why do I think this is noteworthy?
The deer was facing me at a slight angle and the bullet entered the frontal chest just to the right of the left shoulder and progressed on a slight angle lengthwise through the animal resulting in an immediate drop and kill. I wondered where the bullet was when I dressed the animal but did not find it in the guts.
Finding the bullet in the right ham (my pot roast) seems to refute some claims that Powerbelts break up on impact if the right weight and velocity is reasonable, at least in this case.
Just my experience on this animal with an immediate kill and very deep penetration on this medium sized NC deer.

Thanks for the report! I am getting my scope for my Optima today and the mount should be here soon, and I am considering three bullets to try for accuracy.
TC Shockwave 250gr
Powerbelt 295gr HP
Precision 260gr 44/50
I think I will try the SW first then buy the PB and if neither work I will break down and order the Precisions. I already have some SW's and PB's are available locally. I will be shooting 90 grains of Pyro...
Anyway I am going to start a new post and quit hijacking yours. Thanks

I shot deer yesterday in optima elite using 295 grain aerotip and 2- 50 grain pyrodex pellets. Mine is super accurate with this load. Bullet went thru both rib cages deer went 30 yards. From outside looked like nickle sized hole in and out. After opening up deer looked like 50 cent piece sized hole in and out . Easy to load too.

I'm a powerbelt fan, and have killed 3 deer, in the last 2 yrs. with them, out of my CVA Wolf.
