I picked up a model 70 supershadow in 270 wsm from walmart for $389. It came with a simmons 3x9x40 8-point scope already mounted on it. I figured I could beat it around in the woods and weather and not worry about it because of the price. At the range after breakin it was shooting groups under 1" I couldn't believe the accurracy out of the box with cheap optics. Opening day a 6-point walked out of the woods at 130 yards and dropped right where he stood. the ballistic silver tip of 130 grains turned his lungs to mush. I don't know if I was just fortunate to get an accurate gun from the factory or what, but it was the best 389 I ever spent.
