Dear Folks,
I was thinking about getting a top notch single shot rifle (never had one), and was looking at the Dakota Model 10 in online pictures. I couldn't help noticing how short and sharp that lever spur looks, jutting out under the trigger guard.
I have been hunting woods, fields, swamps, thickets, treelines, treestands, etc. for deer for 40 years, and I just can't imagine how you could handle that rifle on a hunt without that sharp lever getting stuck on and pulled by everything. It looks like you couldn't even set the rifle in a comfortable position in your lap without that lever getting hung up in your clothes.
What is the story here? Is the Model 10 really limited to huge wide open spaces, like the American West, where there is nothing for that lever to get caught on?
Thanks, mannyrock
