My opinion and I'm sure the majority opinion here is that the 45/70 is the absolute best in accuracy overall.

45/70..it's almost a religion.

You'd be hard pressed to find a better shooter than a 30-30 Handi. ;)

My 45-70 is my most accurate then my 30-30, then '06 then 7-08. From what I gathered from many threads it seems the rimmed cases seem to have the best out of the box accuracy. But my 30-30 was my favorite until I got the 45-70 (it will drive tacks). But the 30-30 will be very usable and practical.  thejanitor

30-30 would be good cause able to find supplies 45-70 would be blast but harder and more expensive to find ammo for and i guess any opinions on the handi in 223

My 30-30 averages 1" to 1.5" groups at 100 yards with 150grn federal jacketed flat points if I do my part.  It's put meat on the dirt already this year and thats good enough for me.

Thanks Matt

357 is great & the conversion to max has not made any difference, probably my next
choice(3rd) is the 30-30 I have 2 that are tackdrivers.  Fred

I wouldn't waste my time looking for a 7.62x39 Handi. Guys that have 'em for sale want a fortune for 'em and they just ain't that great. A 30-30 is it's twin ballistically and good 30-30 ammo is cheap and available everywhere. I've got a 7.62x39 in the "other" brand and it shoots pretty good. I still think the 30-30 is better.

45-70
the  best....but
ammo is expensive...even if you cast your own   uses  lots of lead
limited range

30-30
probly the best all round
ammo  not  too bad  price wise reload cast
enough power ...flat shooting

357/38

357  in a rifle  is pretty powerful
ammo  is real cheap  compared to  other rounds
you  can  get a few hundred casings  out of the trash can at any range
so  if you want to stock pile  ammo  this is the round
also  38s in a rifle  are real quiet  and  just plain fun   [and  did  i say cheap]
when drugs are outlawed only out laws will have drugs
DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO STOP A DEMOCRAT
OBAMACARE....the biggest tax hike in the  history of mankind
free choice and equality  can't co-exist
