Bipod Attachment?

Guys, I have searched for this but can't find anything.  Was wondering how you all have attached your bipod to a handi.  I know there were some concerns about a bipod affecting accuracy.   Is there a barrel attachment with sling swivel stud?  Any pictures would be helpful.  Also the harris bipod I have doesn't seem to fit too well to the end of my forearm?

I've used a couple of the ones that have the sling swivel attachment.
They just fit over the stud and lock on.
One even had another swivel on it.
Seems I bought it off Midway or Mid-South.

Yep the one I have attaches to a sling swivel and also has another one for you sling.  I think it was cwlongshot who had a picture of a rifle he had where he dealt with bipod attachment.  Maybe he put another swivel stud up closer to the receiver.  I can't remember.  Darn this old age :-)

I have added a sling swivel to the stock just in front of the forearm screw.  Since I only use this as a rest from a treestand it's not a problem.  At the range, I still support the receiver.

I have the forearm "floated" so that the only contact point is the center screw and the rear at the rec.   I'm sure it affects accuracy somewhat, but I've still hit what I was shooting at every time so far.....

Several have tapped the bottom of the receiver and attached there..so far I've been to lazy to do that, but it's on my someday list..

Thanks Tim, I'll go check it out?  Yeah I was thinking about moving up closer to the receiver.  It would seem to be a little weird with the bipod attached to the center of the rifle.  I was thinking like a clamp that you could attach to the barrel ahead of the forearm.  The clamp would have a stud on the bottom to attach bipod.  Anything like that exist?

This one is supposedly a universal.  Appears to clamp to the barrel.    Not the cheapest ever, but might fit your bill.

Here is what I did, I am not a fan of the bipod. I have two cheapos from Hong Kong. Nut and a bolt on the store arm. Notice the sling stud on the front. Spare store arm for no bipod. The other one Will mount through the store arm screw if I want.

Two different guns,but attached the same.Extra sling mount added on both fore arms.I use the 13-23" bipod.Works great for leaning against a tree.Puts the rifle just the right height for me.YMMV.Slow

I've gotta be missing something...please enlighten me.  I've been shooting for 59 years, and never had a desire for a bipod.  I mostly still hunt and can't use a rest.  It also just seemed like more weight and somthing else to clatter around in the brush and hang up.  My blinds and tree stands have a rest, as does my porch rail.  I can't see laying down in 2 feet of snow to take a shot....the bipod would sink out of sight.  I guess if I had pdogs or something like that to plink, it would work, but I don't.

I noticed cheaper than dirt had the universal mount bipod for just $19.95, so about 1/2 the price.

NC star also makes a clamp on, but I don't think it looks as nice to the barrel as this one.

Thanks for the comments guys.  I ended up moving the the stud closer to the receiver similar to how slowhanddd has his but not quite as far back.  Works great and now the bipod it is rock solid.  The barrel clamp bipods look ok but they are not harris made.  Which in my opinion makes a big difference.  The one review the guy wrote about the one midway sells wasn't very promising!

I still hunt and stump set.The guns pictured are a 17m2 and a 223.My 243 and 270 don't have a bi pod either.They're my tree stand and ground blind guns.I use a camera tri pod in my ground blind for a rest.Tree stand don't need one as it has a built in rail.Bi pods work great under the right conditions.I use mine when setting against a tree for coyotes or other varmints.If using the bigger guns a tree trunk or fence post works for me.Slow
