H&R in Gun test
« on: September 29, 2010, 01:20:07 PM »
Nice article in Gun Tests magazine that arrived today.  Graded it a B but was better than the CVAs they tested against.  They actually like the rifle (ultra in .308).  Didn't like the trigger.  We all know that.  Good read.

B ain't too bad, esp. for the price. I guess I am weird, the H&R triggers don't bother me all that much. Are they Timney's? No but not bad. Hell I've spent three times the amount on a rifle with a grade of c-minus or worse. Guess it does not take too much to make me happy in my older years.

Not that any of us H&R lovers care, the article validates what we have known all along.  A good, American Made rifle for a fair price really is a good deal.

Next to the price I just love the ease of cleaning a Handi. Remove one screw, ther barrel comes off. I got a hole drilled into my work bench big enough to let the barrel slide down just before the scope would hit the bench. A one piece cleaning rod makes short work to clean the bore.
