Rest for use with Handi's
« on: August 05, 2010, 04:20:33 PM »
I have used many differant types of rest to try and find something that I can get rock solid with, for longer distance shooting.  The Stoney Point rest worked great with all my guns except the Handi's.  For the Handi's it was only fair.  Too much distance between the points of contact with the gun.  My Outers Varmit Rest so far has done best, but still does not give me the solidity I am looking for.  Michelle and Sky gave me an envelop for Fathers Day and said the item was on back order.  It came in Monday,  The RCBS, Rapid Aquisition Shooting System.  Portable shooting bench, not real portable, this rig is heavy.   But talk about fitting all guns, even the Handi.  Set it up this afternoon and tried it out with differant guns.  The forward rest will move back to hit right under the hinge, for the Handi's.  Then extend forward for the Weatherby.  Once I got it set up that thing is rock solid, and very small adjustments can be made fast and easy.  It fits inside my protable blind.  I'll let you know how it works once I get to take it to the 40 mile.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

The Cabela's Premier rest works great as does the Leadsled DFT which even has windage adjustment, the front rest on both is adjustable to fit the Handi.  ;)

I did sell about 30 scopes earlier this year, but that's all the cleaning out I'm doing.  ;)
