13 grains LIL GUN and either a 35 grain Vmax or 34 grain Mid South. All ya need to know.

Mine's 12.5 grs of Lil-Gun, Rem 6 1/2 primer, Hornady 40 gr Vmax. Seat them long. Mine are seated out to 1.900"

11.2 Grs of H110, Rem 6 1/2 primer, Nosler 40 Gr Spitzer, COL 1.810.
Works for me.
12.8 grs of Lil'Gun with 40 Gr V-Max or Nosler Spitzer works well also,
about the same accuracy.

A full case of 1680 and 35gr bullets is hard to beat.  Larry
A gun is just like a parachute, if you ever really need one, nothing else will do.

Don't know now, those Hornets are rough little rascals.  You probably don't want to get mixed up with them at all.  'sides everybody knows that it's an old obsolete round.  I'll tell you what, just to help you out, I'll give you SIXTEEN dollars for those ol' dies!! (not that I've been looking for some for a while now, and everybody seems real proud of them, or nothin' ya know)

BTW if you insist on going there anyhow, 11 grains of Lil' Gun, Rem 6 1/2 primers and  40 grain V-Max's does the job for me.
Life's too short to waste any of it,

As the local range rat, I've angered the silhouette guys more than once with this round.  First, I don't load to eliminate target damage enough, second, I load what works.  The 22 hornet is pretty much 100 meters.  After that, it runs out of gas but, it will reach out and touch anything in that 100 meters with a good, flat trajectory.  My TC is topped off with a rifle scope.

     Jacketed: Hornady V-Max 50 grain, VV N-110 @ 8.0 grains
Lead: Lyman 225438 gas checked, IMR 4227 @ 7.5 grains
4.7 to 4.8 grains of Unique works too, I don't use it though.

Best idea with a Hornet is a neck sizing die.  You can also set your dies high, so as not to work the web of the case head.  This is thin brass so, the neck sizing die allows you to let it 'puff' out against the chamber walls and not overwork your brass.  But these are little details compared to the ease of use and availability of supplies. It's a great cartridge!
