And brought my new Rossi M-92: 44 Mag 24" Octogon Bbl. and my Uberti M-73 Sporting Rifle: 45 Colt 24" Octogon Bbl. along with me.
I'd never shot the 92 and had loaded up a bag of what I wanted to try for hunting ammo with jacketed bullets. Also some cast loads I wanted to try in my search for a plinking load. The handloading particulars will be in that forum!

I tell ya, that 92 can shoot! With my old eyes and the factory iron sights it clustered my first attempt at a hunting load well into an inch at 50 yards! And that was
5 ROUNDS!!!
Need less to say, I'm not looking any further for a hunting load.

One of my cast bullet loads, of WW's dropped from an RCBS 240-SWC mould - the GC model but I didn't put the checks on, and lubed with Dee's formula for smokeless load lube, did well also. Not up to the groups given by the jacketed bullets, but darn good!
Actually, that rifle shot everything I put through it real well! And when I ejected a spent shell it kicked it up high enough for me to catch it before it hit the bench!

I am
real happy with this rifle gun. I can't wait to see what it will do with a tang sight on it!

The 73 has always been a good rifle also. Killed a nice deer with it this last year. I was looking for a plinking load for it using bullets cast from my RCBS 45-250 RNFP mould. Those to were lubed with lube from the formula Dee gave me.
I picked out a load that shot well and will play with it some more, but I'm actually pretty happy with it as is. I tell ya, the tang sight and ivory bead front sight make that thing easy to shoot even with my eyes! I've decided I like the ivory bead better then the fire sight I have on my M94 or the post painted white on the M92.
I tell ya boys, I don't know which I'm having more fun doing; playing with my lever guns or learning to shoot with open sights again!
