G2 Youth model from T/C
« on: June 12, 2010, 05:39:41 AM »
An old question surfaced in my head.  Is there a youth sized stock for the G2?  I checked the T/C website and lo and behold!  There appears to be a Youth Model G2 now.  No, NOT the "HOT SHOT" but a real youth model G2.  The only caliber listed is the .223.  Of course, true to most customer service issues, there is NO description of the G2 youth stock dimension.  Does anyone have any more information on this?  I really just need the stock and forend... I don't want to have to order the full gun just to get the stock...  I know, I know... come on NGH, just get a regular stock and cut it down, right?  Well that's what I was getting ready to do... and then I saw the advert...

thanks,
NGH

I was looking at the Hot Shot for my 6 year old BUT they only come in .22's,which is fine for now BUT would want different barrels as he grows.
I will look into that G2 Youth though---Thanks for the heads up.
T/C used to sell a bantam stock for youths BUT have not seen it lately.
I will do a little research-----If I find something I will let you know.

encore28,

I think the "bantam" stock was for the original Contender.  Seems NOBODY has been able to see the obvious connection between the ultra safe and very accurate single shot G2 and the youth hunting market.  It's the right weight, size and length if you can just get into a short stock with a good pad on it.  I've GOT to get into a G2 youth stock in the next month or so.

The "HOT SHOT" is just a marketing ploy.  Why would you buy a .22 that looks like a G2/Encore but can't change barrels.  Just produce short and shorter stocks.  We already have G2's and a .22 barrel with a short stock and a carbine length barrel makes that into a "HOT SHOT".  Throw a mid-caliber barrel on it and you have a youth hunting rifle.  Change to a regular stock and you have an adult hunting rifle.  Seems like the "HOT SHOT" was a product in search of a market.

I was also looking for one.  I think it is available for the Encore but not the G2.  Choate makes an adjustable AR type stock which may work.  I have never actually seen one, but Midway has them.
