Taurus PT-99 question

Hello I would like to hear from anyone that has one or has shot one.  I am thinking of getting a 9mm in the future and I am looking for some information.  I have always liked the Beretta but the price is a little higher than I would like to spend at this time.  The PT-99 from what I have read seems to be what I am looking for.  What I would like to know is have you had any problems and how accurate is it?  I would be using it at the range for target shooting as well as shooting at metal plates.   Also how is the trigger pull on the PT-99, is there alot of creep?   Is the PT-99 a good gun for this or should I be saving up and getting the Beretta instead.

:grin: I have one I bought about 16 or 17 years ago.  Trigger was long and heavy, but gun was well-built.  I paid Taurus about 6 or 7 years ago for a trigger job...  pull is still kinda long, but pulls easy.  I don't know if the newer models are as good, but have been very happy with this.

Thanks for the info on the one that you have.  From what I have read and the few posts I have seen it sound like the Taurus is a well made firearm.

I had the Pt 99 for about a year. My son has it now. It never failed to
 feed or eject. The accuratcy was just ok. maybe 3"-4" at 25 yds. I think
 it would of been better with a better trigger. the trigger was very long and
 heavy. It didn't seem to break until you were almost to the back of the
 trigger guard. This takes a little getting use to. My son shoots it better
 than I did and he just loves it.
 I went out and bought the Beretta. the trigger is much better and I shoot
 the gun better. the Beretta also has a long take up but lighter and breaks
 much better. I paid I think about $479 for the Taurus about a year ago
 in stainless. I paid $549 for the Beretta. For the money differents I would
 get the Beretta. The Beretta is also stainless. The Taurus is a nice gun
 and I would trust it in a pinch.
