This is pretty neat. This guy killed a Polar Grizzly Hybrid bear. It is only the second one to have been known to exist. Dale

Genetically Polar Bears decended from Grizzly Bears.  So with less ice the Polar Bears are spending more time hunting on land.  That means more interaction with Grizzly bears during the breeding season.  It's no differant than a Collie cross breeding with a Lab, or an Arab crossing with a Quarter Horse.  It's really nothing new, just seen more because of current environmental conditions, and there is more people going to the remote palces, more than before.  Makes for genic diversafication.

And when you hear some environmental whacko say Polar Bears can not live on land they have to be on the ice to hunt and survive.  That is BS!  We had a man kill a Poler Bear last year here in Alaska over 250 miles from the Arctic Ocean.  This bear was healthy, and had been living on land for some time to travel that far.

I'm sorry Sourdough, there was no way I could pass this up when I read this. It just hit me and I had to say it. When you cross an Arab with a Quarter Horse, you get a jackass, that runs for president and wins. ;D

Well, I've heard that Arabs are fond of sheep and in a pinch, maybe a camel, or goat, but horses?

Ok, Ok, Forget the Arab.  Make it a Pinto and Quarter Horse.

Yea, a few years ago a guy shot one and got into a heck of a mess trying to sort out if the license he had for Polar bear was valid for a hybrid.Dna was sent to various institutions for verifications! He was charged for awhile for shooting a illegal bear, later charges were dropped and he finally got his pelt back after a long drawn out ordeal dealing with the wildlife officials.

Sourdough, a pinto is a color of horse. Quarter Horses can be Pinto in color, or Paint in color. One is black and white, the other sorrel (or brown)and white. I personally liked your first comparison. It was fun.

I believe that this is not as uncommon as suggested.
I have heard them called Grizzlors.
That, by the way is not a pun,
Lions and Tigers do the same.
As far as Pinto beans and quarter horses==would that make it a small phart?
Sorry-- :P :-[ :'(
