Spot lighting set up on ultra 204
« on: May 29, 2010, 06:04:14 PM »
l have been doing a little spot lighting for dingo's lately down here. Just picked up a new torch for the job.
Fitted it to the Ultra 204R set up. The light is suppose to be good for about 200m. But will see how it goes soon. Most of my shots are under 100m at night anyway. l'm hoping it wont change my POI with it on the forend.

Cheers from Oz

Lifes all good downunder Kurt.
Should have some primer here for it this week. Then need to sort out projectiles.

The light l have is the same as this

lts a 10w led with remote battery pack. lt is a spot, with a bit of spill around it, so gives a bit of width in the light. l mounted mine on the for arm to keep the weight off the scope tube. l do use a smaller torch that l mount on the scope when needed. Will try and get out with it shortly and do a report.

Charged up the battery and took the new light out to the range. l was very impressed with it. lt has a good spot with a lot of scatter around it. Here is a pic on the 50m range

Shining out further, l would say it would be good for over 100m. l have a led lensor and wolf eyes and this leave them for dead.
Now to go and try to find some dingo's  :)

Pretty neat guys. I may look into something like that to protect the chickens from predators. If you have a light mounted and are reading, please do as these guys did and link more or add pics.
Thanks
