Can you use 7mmBR brass to make 6mmBR brass ?

I was just looking at the two and the 7mmBR uses Large rifle primers and the 6mmBR uses Small rifle primers.Can you just run the 7mmBr case in the 6mmBR die ?

Hi PJ,
 I have both and they both use a "SMALL" rifle primer. As far as necking the 7BR down to 6BR depends on the 6BR neck diameter. I'll bet it probablt won't chamber. Why not but Lapua 6BR brass?

why would you want to? if you can buy the 6br brass ready to go. lapua brass is highly recommended by everyone i ever talked to. it's not much more expensive at www.midwayusa.com . i believe the reason for the small rifle primer was to enhance accuracy in the short fat case. the 6ppc is where they learned this, i think. the small rifle primer will be no disadvantage. :grin:  [/url]

Thank's for the info. the book must have a typo because, it said it used Large rifle primers in the 7mmBR.
