Marlin 308 MXLS
« on: April 14, 2010, 07:46:37 PM »
Just bought a Marlin 308 MXLS and took it to sight it in today. I REALLY like this. With the Hornady Leverevolution ammo it makes a lever gun a 3 to 400 yard deer rifle. Anybody had one long enough to tell us how the round performs on deer or elk size game? I can say it is accurate and recoil is very tame.
Perception is everything. For instance, a crowded elevator smells different to a midget.

I can tell you a .308 dia bullet performs well on deer sized game it don't matter what it comes out of. Specially if you can put it where it needs to go!

I thank God everyday for my loving wife and all the fond memories of hunting with my Papa from a child until now.

Please take time to take a kid hunting, it will be a life long memory and blessing for both of you!

I just had my candy store put one back for me to pick up next weekend when they have their sale.  Lookin forward to playing with it, have a VX 1, 2-7X33 with the LR duplex to put on it.  I think that will make a good little set up.  She's gonna have to work hard to keep me from grabbin the 338 MXLR to take hunting on the plains.  DP
