Found a .223 Superlight from a guy on another forum and sent him $$ last week. It arrived today, I put it on one of my receivers, took a couple of boxes of random ammo I had lying around from years ago when I had another Superlight and headed out to the range taking advantage of a gap of sun between yesterday's cold front and today's possible snow showers. After all, it's April in the Pacific NW.

Since it came with open sights, I decided to shoot it as issued. Besides, I didn't want to bother putting a scope on since the previous Superlight I had was a dud as far as accuracy was concerned, and truthfully I didn't have much optimism about this one either.
Well, I changed my mind. Here's a couple of pics of what it managed after I got it lined up left-right. It arrived with the rear sight 'way off to the right, so I centered it visually and took a couple of shots just to get started.
Then I fired it at the target below for groups, and did not stop to let the barrel cool, just took my time loading and catching the empties as they came out, so it got a little warm. First shots are at the bottom, next 3 higher up. Considering everything, including my aging eyes, and a gusty wind I am not unhappy. In fact, I am happy...

It definitely ain't a "dud" like the last Superlight .223 I had.
Next step is to mount a scope and see how it groups at longer ranges, then try some handloads. I think the little guy has potential.
