ACORN folding

I saw a couple of news reports tonight saying ACORN was closing shop due to lack of $$$.   I guess when those undercover reporters that posed as prostitutes revealed ACORN for the sham it truly is then Congress dried up the funds (tax dollars) going to them.   

I'll savor this victory.

I heard this morning they would be funded again, did something change?

Besides, they will give themselves a new name & just keep trucking.

Are you SURE?  I thought I read that some offices had closed and reopened with new names.

This Acorn thing makes me wonder what they ever did and why the heck they were funded by tax dollars. I've probably been told a bunch of times that govt funds way too many useless operations but this issue finally opened my ears and eyes. I bet we could save billions if subsidies like this were cut.

ACORN will fold and send their employees home one night.  The next morning they will go to work for a new organization, with a new name, and a new mission statement.  Same bosses, same people, same jobs, new name, and wiser now to keep a lower profile.

I'm thinking the same thing. Within a couple of days I read that they were bankrupt and closing the doors and then read that Obama was going to start funding them again. Said it was unconstitutional to stop funding them. Others said it was never constitutional to fund them in the first place, the government funding an outfit with tax dollars that works for the Dems. Weeks ago they were in the process of reorganizing and using different names in different places around the country. Sounds like another big Obama scam to me. Different names makes it easier to hide money and records and stuff. News reports about bankruptcy make you think they are gone. Refunded by Obama. I don't think they are going away. You know we never did find out about all those organizations, including Acorn, that were getting their mail and money sent to that one building in New Orleans. Makes me wonder how big that outfit really is. Maybe they already go by different names and we don't know about it. Anyone heard anything about what was going on in New Orleans at that old funeral home or whatever it is?  If they declare bankruptcy can they just change their name and keep on going? If I could get an email through to Glenn Beck I would ask him to check into it.

Acorn is a virus and it ain't killed by a long shot.  It is mutating and becoming more stealthy.  It will still feed on federal funds and it will still infect politics to the benefit of Dumbycrats and the detriment of their opposition.

...but would interject that they are more like cockroaches that scurry into the dark corners and crevices (not unlike the Taliban), when exposed to light.  They will reemerge in a thousand smaller components and be ever so much more difficult to watch and expose.  They will continue to drain the coffers of the American Taxpayer - for no apparent good - and get away with it, even be lauded for it by the current Administration.

they'll be back. My congressman voted to continue funding it. He said they do more good then bad. I wrote to him and told him that's the logic of a village idiot. I'm still waiting for his reply.

Holder was directed to refund Acorn. It maybe under a different name. Don't beleive anything from the adminstration. They are not gonna let anything that effective in voter fraud be dismanteled.

Acorn started life as an organization that helped people get to polls and vote. They provided transportation. Then they provided information on candidates. Quickly they became usefull tools for political activists. Then the money started to roll in. They became community organizers providing misinformation to uniformed voters. They were implicated in voter fraud. One hundred years ago, this was known as buying votes. ( no, I wasn't here then). The same money will reorganize them into a new group. The structure is still intact. Until the government can get our democratic process of voting for candidates overturned, they will need this type of group. Eventually this will change too. We don't really elect our president and have little or no say on who runs for office. The process is controlled. Sadly, I don't see any clear opposition in Washington trying to fix this mess. Scandals and corruption abound. What's next?
