BLR Receiver Sight

Does anyone know if the Williams WGRS-BAR receiver sight (MFR #1457) is the only option for a peep sight for a BLR 81?  Can it be used with the stock front sight or will I need a taller one?   I can't really see the open rear very well anymore and can't bring myself to put the scope back on it.

When you join the bifocal generation, scopes work a little better than iron sights.

AFAIK, the WGRS is the only receiver sight with a version made specifically for the BLR ( I had one on my .358).

Have you considered a reflex sight, like the Dr.Optic ?
 (although there's many others, like Meprolight/Burris/Trijicon/TruGlo/etc/etc)

A reflex sight mounts and is used like a receiver peep, but is more like a zero magnification scope, in that it doesn't use any front sight.

The illumination, much like that of fiber-optic sights, does wonders both for vision and while hunting in gloom.

Yeah, I know.  I had a scope on it originally for load development, but the rifle really seems to be better stocked for iron sights.  I'd rather go to a receiver sight if I could.  The BLR just handles better without glass on top.

You can drill & tap the side of the reciever for a williams or lyman side mount peep sight. This solves all the front sight issues.
