Stopped at Cabela's in Hamburg Pa to get loading supplies today (good supply for a change) Decided to check out the used racks.
Saw this short rifle in the rack, fact it had a dowel in the muzzle so it could reach the upper slot. Picked it up and it was H&R Shikari
in 44 mag. The barrel had been cut & recrowned to about 17" and had more modern open sights installed & no ramrod. The stock set
was plain straight gripped wood but no dings or scratches and receiver was clean with good case hardening color. Couldn't check the
rifling as it was typical wire nylon wire tie shut. A nice short quick little gun. Asking 150.Passed on it as just spent a bundle on loading
supplies. On the way home got to thinking about it. 150, could probably talk down 10-15 + I forgot I had a 20 off coupon that just came
in the mail, almost turned around but traffic was getting bad. Then heard on the radio possible 12-15" snow from 12:00 tonight into
Friday. Must be fate! Fred
