223 Handi & A Max bullets

Hi,

Anybody shoot the 75 or 80 grain Hornday A Max bullets in their handi?  I know the max. handi 223 twist is 1:9 and these bullets are supposed to need 1:8.  Also the reccommended OAL is significantly over 2.26".  Bought them because the kid wanted to shoot them in his AR, but now they look like handi ammo, since he doesn't want to shoot his AR in single shot mode.

My non-handi gun shoots the 52g a-maxs very well in .223 rem.  I have not shot the heavy 1s and prob. won't as good as it sends the 52s down range.   Sorry I don't have experience with the heavier amax pills.

That's typical,,Kid's! ::)
 I've spent all of my son's shooting career, about 10 years worth now, handing him nothing but single shot's. He got a little bucky about it for a little while, peer pressure an all, long about "saftey training certificate" time.
 But now he KNOW's the value of one well placed shot. It's fun to watch him shoot, darn kid out shoot's me sometimes :D, I must've done sumpthin right. My pop usta send us deer huntin with the gun and ONE bullet. I lightend up a bit, I give'm 5.
