22-250 pro hunter

i am new to t/c and i have a encore frame. i think i would like a pro hunter barrel for this encore frame and i wonder if any here can shed light on ss vs blued as to barrel life. is the ss better for more rounds down the tube before it will be shot out. thanks   searlock

As far as brl life goes thats dependants on the load, care of the barrel and what you consider 'shot out'.

For 225-325$ for a new barrel for the TC vs. 400$ plus install (500-600$ out the door) on a 700bdl style gun.

I don't think there is a significant difference in barrel life between blued and stainless unless the barrel is exposed to rust inducing situations in which case stainless is easier to care for and is less likely to rust though it may rust as well if neglected.  My preference is stainless.

I have a number of Pro Hunter barrels and I like them but, considering the fire sale prices I got some of them for, I suspect a lot of people don't like them; probably because of the length.  Some then cut them down which, in my opinion, makes them look dumb with the flutes ending at the muzzle.  In not saying not to get a Pro Hunter barrel; I'm just saying be sure of what you want before you buy.

By the way; now is a good time to buy T/C products with the rebates out there.
