is it one of the standard small frames currently produced?  I like a lot of their snubs.. I've thought about the 94? 8-9 shot for my next handgun (22lr 8-9 shots, and a current production/strong gun)

then again if it's working and 22lr, how can you wear it out.  I assume you're getting a good price for it?

My experience: the 96 is a nicely made revolver. Mine have a very nice finish, grip, sights and trigger. They feel like a K-frame Smith, and are very accurate, for me. Mine are 6" blue, don't know if they made them in other configurations.

How is the 96 different than the 94? I have a 94 (9-shot 22lr) with a 5" in blue that is very nice in single action; double action is still stiff but I haven't broken it in yet.

Not 100% sure that I know.  Is the 94 a K-frame in size? Are all 94's 9-shot? The 96's are six-shot.  Target hammer, trigger, sights in 96. 94?
Here's a 96 that just sold on GB:  http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=146985707

I see where someone says its Taurus' version of the S&W Model 17, which to my eyes looks a little beefier than my 94, but not by much. The 96 frame was originally for .32/.38 calibers whereas the 94 was always rimfire.

the 94 is a rimfire, like a j-frame not a k-frame

the 96 I didn't see on their site, but it was bugging last night (probably sight maintenance)
anyways I didn't see any long barreled 94 but I'd like to get one, with a hogue monogrip on it

I bought my model 94 about 15 yrs ago, I chose it over the model 96 because it held 9 rounds vs 6.     the model 96 is the same size but a little heavier than the 94 because it only has 6 holes in the cylinder instead of 9.

Mine is a sweet shooting little gun.    Pleasant to carry .

I have a Taurus 94 and a Taurus 96.  The 94 is a small frame 9 shot .22.  The model 96 looks like a Taurus copy of a S&W K 22 or model 17.  This is a medium frame double action and a 6 shot.  Taurus no longer makes the modle 96 but does make the model 94.  If you can get a nice model 96 for $200 I would get it.
