Ithica mod 49 falling block 22
« on: January 21, 2010, 07:11:03 AM »
My first rifle was an Ithica mod 49 (I believe) It was a single shot, falling block .22. It was made to look like a Winchester 94. Loved that gun, never could get it to eject, but it would extract the empty out just enough to pop it out with a fingernail. Does anybody remember these and are they still around? Might like to pick one up "for the memories". Thanks

Most likely will find on a gun auction site or in a gun/pawn shop
Gun broker/Gunsamerica etc.

The sticking ejector could have a burr, mine didn so removing it and a polish out the lathe turn marks wouldent hurt.
(Remember dry fireing will peen the edge of the chamber causeing stuck cases too)

They are still around,I saw one the other day in a gun shop, not very great shape but ok,for about 150.00.Have seen a few others for abut that same price.
there are 2 for sale by a fella,on the northwest firearms board.
they are heavier than I thought theuy'd be,thought of one for the grand son untiil I picked one up....kinda chunky for their size.

this one was a pawn shop find. And yep, it doesn't fully eject the shells either.
I would love to find one in .22 mag
