Spring bass fishing

Does anyone know what temperture the water has to be to start the spawn?  I can't wait! ;D

Spots will spawn in cooler water that is in the upper 50's while largemouth want it in the mid 60's. They both will go into pre-spawn when it starts getting close to those temps.

  That sounds about right for my location in North Texas.  The Magic Number for the Crappie spawn to start seems to be about 60 degrees give or take a degree or two.  I usually see the Bass moving up on spawning sites 3 weeks later when the water is up a few more degrees in a pre spawn pattern getting ready for the spawning season.  Sunfish seem to be about 6-8 weeks later.
